Hey, guys! It’s Marin here. I wanted to share with you why my husband Aaron and I decided to start Sandy Bottom Boating, our awesome boat tour company in Southwest Florida.
It all started when we took a trip with friends to the British Virgin Islands and went on an amazing week-long charter boat tour. We were blown away by how beautiful the islands were and how much there was to explore. Our captain and his first mate were truly amazing, taking us to hidden gems that we never would have found on our own.
But what really stood out to us was how carefree and relaxed our experience was. We didn’t have to worry about anything, from driving the boat to navigating the waters. We just got to sit back, relax, and take in the beauty around us. It was truly a memorable experience.
After we returned home to Southwest Florida, we couldn’t stop thinking about that trip and how much we wanted to bring that same kind of experience to our own backyard. We realized that there was a real need for a high-quality boat tour company in the area, one where guests could truly let go of their cares and immerse themselves in the natural beauty of the Gulf.
In August of 2022, we launched a company called Estero Bay Boat Tours. Shortly after that was up and running, we experienced a little storm called Hurricane Ian (I cover that story in more depth in a different post)! Eventually, we relaunched and that’s how Sandy Bottom Boating was born! We’ve put our all into creating a company that would serve our guests just as well as our captain and first mate did in the BVI and make sure that every detail was taken care of.
We wanted to create a company that would give guests the same carefree, memorable experience we had on our trip.Our goal is take people to the most beautiful spots, show them around the islands, and give them the peace of mind that they were in good hands.
Aaron and I pride ourselves on giving guests a personalized experience, tailoring our tours to their preferences. Whether you want to go exploring the shores for shells, visiting restaurants for drinks or just lounging on the boat to enjoy the scenery, we make sure everyone has a great time.
